La trascrizione in inglese dell’intervista è stata diffusa mercoledì dall’agenzia di traduzione dei mass-media arabi MEMRI e può essere sia letta che ascoltata in video.
Rim Al-Riyashi, 23 anni, residente a Gaza, di famiglia benestante, si fece esplodere il 14 gennaio 2005 al valico di Karni fra Israele e striscia di Gaza, provocando la morte di quattro israeliani. L'attentato venne rivendicato da Hamas e dalle Brigate al Aqsa (Fatah).
Durante la trasmissione della tv di Hamas, un intervistatore sorridente annuncia: “Parliamo ora con i due figli della martire della jihad Rim Al-Riyashi: Dhoha e Muhammad”.
Quindi si rivolge con voce gentile alla bambina e le chiede: “Dhoha, vuoi bene alla mamma? Dov’è andata la mamma?”.
E la piccola risponde: “In paradiso”.
“E cosa ha fatto la mamma?”, chiede l’intervistatore.
“Ha fatto martirio”, risponde la bambina.
“Ha ucciso degli ebrei [yahud], vero? E quanti ebrei ha ucciso la mamma?”
“Così” risponde il maschietto, mostrando la mano aperta.
“Quanti, così?”, insite l’intervistatore, e Muhammad risponde: “Cinque”.
Sollecitata a recitare qualcosa, la bambina dice poi a memoria: “Nel nome di Allah clemente e misericordioso, quando verrà l'ausilio di Allah e la vittoria, e vedrai le genti entrare in massa nella religione di Allah, glorifica il tuo Signore lodandolo e chiedigli perdono: in verità Egli è colui che accetta il pentimento” [Corano, inizio della Sura 110 “L'Ausilio”].
L’intervista si chiude con l’intervistatore che si rivolge alla piccola Dhoha e le chiede: “Vuoi andare dalla mamma?”, e lei risponde: “Sì”.
